Holiday Season Training Schedule

Training at the RA will be cancelled on Thursday, December 24 and Thursday, December 31. Monday sessions on December 21 and December 28 will be regular session (8:00-10:30). The last training day at the University of Ottawa Lees campus will be on November 27. All training sessions regularly scheduled for Lees will be at the RA from November 30 until January 8. Regular programming will continue at Lees as of January 11.

Winter Fencing Camp (Dec. 28 - 30)

Ottawa Fencing will be running a 3 day winter camp from 9:00am to 4:00pm on December 28 to 30 at the RA. This camp will be a mix between tactical, technical, physical and practical skills. This clinic is geared toward fencers preparing for NAC in January, provincial level fencers, and the ODFC development group. The following items will be addressed at the clinic:

Fitness - Circuit Training
Lessons
Mental Training
Lessons
Tactical Work - Evaluation of Actions
Benefiting from your Lessons /Log Book
Warm Up - Competition/Training
Tournament Expectations
Video/Observation Skills

Competitions for Beginners

The second event of this year's ODFC will be held at the RA on Saturday November 21. The Ottawa Developmental Fencing Circuit (ODFC) is a competitive circuit in Ottawa for beginner fencers. Armband Test

Ottawa Fencing will be holding an Armband Test at the RA Centre on Monday December 7 starting at 6:30. The CFF Armband Program is similar to a belt program in martial arts. Fore more information about the CFF Armband Program, please visit: http://www.ottawafencing.ca/armband/

Carleton Invitational Team Tournament (Jan. 9 - 10)

Ottawa Fencing will be participating 'en masse' at this year's Carleton Invitational Team Tournament on January 9 and 10. This is a team event and all OTT fencers are encouraged to participate. If you are interested in helping organize the teams, registrations, and logistics for OTT for this event please talk to Paul.

Canadian Championship in Ottawa

The Canadian Senior Championships are being held at Carleton University from November 26 to 29. Good luck to all of our competitors. Information for the National championships can be found at: http://www.fencing.ca/competitions/2009nov_csc_info_eng.htm
