Fencing in Ottawa Update (Sherraine Schalm Reached Semi-Finals at Worlds)

Congratulations to Ottawa Fencing's own Sherraine Schalm for reaching the semi-finals at the 2009 Senior World Fencing Championships in Antalya, Turkey, assuring herself a return to the podium at the World Championships.

Sherraine, a bronze medalist at the 2005 Senior World Championships, defeated Danuta Dmowska-Andrzejuk of Poland in overtime earlier today by a score of 11 to 10 to qualify for this year's semi-finals. Sherraine's next match will be against Sonya Tol of the Netherlands.
